May MMS: Wine, Cheese and Fun at Uzupis Kratuve

Here are photos from a wonderful MMS at a gourmet store Uzupis Krautuve (Uzupis Gatve 23) that took place last night. This spacious gourmet store has a big selection of antipasti, wines, sauces, cheeses, meats etc. The staff are very helpful, friendly and warm. Plus prices are quite acceptable!

Many thanks to Ieva for organizing this event! Nice company, wine and cheese tasting, available for sale antique and hand-made jewellery from the store owner's private collection, shopping for delicious treats made it an evening to remember!

Photos From The Annual General Meeting

Dear Ladies,


I would like to send a very big THANK YOU to all those ladies who joined us on Tuesday evening at the Radisson for the Annual General Meeting and made up a quorum for the voting. I also send a big thank you to those ladies who could not physically get there but were with us in spirit.


We had not planned any changes to our Constitution so the meeting did not take very long. The result is that we have the same board as last year. Mauricette remains as Chair of the ICCB, Gabi Jazbutis remains as our IWAV Treasurer and I remain as your Chair.


Do not forget that we also have Taina as Secretary, Monika as Membership secretary and Irina and Ieva will organise activities and charity events.


We have said goodbye in part to Sydney and Erin but I am sure they will be around for a while to come yet. Thank you Sydney and Erin for all your work and for the effort that you have put into everything.


Edita Mildazyte joined us afterwards to talk about her charity Bedu turgus which raises money to buy insulin pumps for diabetic children.

I did say that I would reserve a table at Double Coffee on Vokieciu but instead I have reserved a table for 13.00 on the 4th May at Greito maisto restoranas, which is on Vokieciu next to the small Iki supermarket. It would be nice if those people who intend to join us at the lunches could let me know beforehand so that I have an idea of numbers.

Photos: Great Time At Sue's

On Saturday we had a social evening at Sue's Indian Restaurant. There were 28 of us, not just IWAV ladies.


It was a wonderfully mixed group and we all had a great time. The restaurant worked very hard to serve us all at roughly the same time and I must congratulate Raj and his staff for making the evening go so well.

Photos From A Visit to Kindergarten Nendre

Dear Ladies,
Irina has kindly sent me some photos taken April 15 at Kindergarten Nendre. IWAV members were invited for a visit to Nendre to see the kitchen equipment purchased for the money raised at the recent Christmas bazaar. I missed this event but as I can see from the photos our ladies were given a sweet welcome and there was even an Easter performance by the kids! Enjoy the photos below!

Lunch Bunch and Ladies That Munch

Dear Ladies,

Lunch yesterday at La Boheme was a delightful surprise. Me and my soups - I had the mushroom soup and it was one of the nicest I have had in quite a long time. We then had salads - all different and all equally nice. Service was good as well. The only downside which was not the fault of the restaurant was the young couple allowing their child to crawl all over the dirty floor and chasing him/her with a spoonful of mashed potato. I hope no-one had been walking in dog doodoo before walking in the restaurant!!

We would certainly go back there.

Lunch next week Tuesday 13th 13.00 will be at Skonis ir Kvapas on Traku gatve unless I think of somewhere else.

A reminder to those people who are thinking of joining the evening munchers that we will be going to Sues Indian Raj restaurant on Saturday 17th April 19.00. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WILL BE JOING US. HUSBANDS ( well some of them anyway ) PARTNERS, FRIENDS ARE ALL WELCOME BUT I NEED TO KNOW SO THAT I CAN BOOK

Photos From Breast Cancer Fundraiser

Here are some photos from IWAV's second annual breast cancer fundraiser: "Music Through the Decades." The event took place on Saturday, 20 March. Unfortunately I could not attend but according to Barbara, IWAV Chair, it was a great success. Together with Roche Lietuva IWAV raised an impressive sum of money to buy biopsy needles for local hospitals.

An important charity event is coming up on the 20th of March! Charity dinner organized by IWAV and Roche Lietuva will raise money for biopsy needles for breast cancer patients at the hospitals in Klaipeda, Kaunas and Vilnius. are holding their second annual charity event on 20th March at Crowne Plaza Hotel
Music through the decades
The event is to raise money to buy biopsy needles for breast cancer patients at the hospitals in Klaipeda, Kaunas and Vilnius
The patron of our event will be Mrs Siobhan Denham, wife of the Irish Ambassador Mr. Donal Denham

The evening will begin at 18.00 with a welcome drink and an introduction by our host and will include:

A three course dinner with choice of main course

* Ruta Rimseliene will show her newest evening shoe collection
* A live band – Ella Fitzgerald Tunes – playing during the meal
* Lindyhop dancers will give a demonstration of Swing dancing
* A DJ will will continue with our theme of music through the decades
* We will have Laura, a Lithuanian jewellery designer with some of her designs available for sale.
* There will be a raffle
